The green,clear Aar....

Bern (Switzerland)

The Aar is the longest wholly Swiss river.
It originates from the Oberaar glacier in the eastern Bernese Alps, flows through lakes Brienz and Thun, passes by the federal capital of Bern, is channelled into Lake Biel, follows the southern foot of the Jura range and finally flows into the Rhine at Koblenz, in north-western Switzerland.

This photo is part of a thematic gallery dedicated to the Capital City of Switzerland.

The colors are breathtaking! I too love your vantage point. You're so lucky to live in such a beautiful country!

Like the scene from this point high above the water. Having the people in shot certainly shows how high up you were to take this picture.

Love your pov and capture of this beautifully colored river! V
As you may be aware, most rivers in the US don't have this beautiful blue/green coloring...

Your vantage point is, as someone commented, unique. Were you on a mountain or a very high building?

A unique point of view. I like that you can see the curve in the river and the people give you a nice feel for the scale.

Totally agree with Pepe - unique perspective; and the folks on the rock shoal add size perspective as well
