The small church of San Rocco

Lerici (Italy)

The devotion to S. Rocco, the pilgrim going to Rome portrayed with the pilgrim's typical tools, a staff, shell and money-bag, is testified by the oratory bearing the same name in the main square of Lerici, an early baroque building with a gothic style bell tower and a vaguely oriental style polyhedral spire.

We intended to get up to Tellaro, a small village close to Lerici, but we could not find immediately the suitable minibus and then we felt also a little tired, so we decided to postpone our visit and to go back to la Spezia instead.
