Today, the first of August is the Swiss national day; we have our easy going way to celebrate it, as we are low profile people ;^)
Like every year I take a funny and symbolic photo of one of our simple traditions:
the typical bun of our National Day.
Frankly speaking it’s good, but it’s nothing so wonderfully refined and amazingly delicious, it’s a plain good bun.
What makes it special is that you can find it on sale only once a year, in coincidence with our National Day.
The fact we have only one day a year to eat it, makes it precious and refined, while if it was on sale in our baker’s shops every day, probably people would snob it after a while.
All the photos of this series, which should be considered a homogenous work, compose a visual description of my very personal idea of summer. Each photo is posted on the same day it’s taken, they have all square format.
You might see also the others, if you have time.
