At least one photo showing a monument…Saint-Jacques Tower

Paris (France)

It’s difficult to stroll over Paris without finding any more or less well known sight or monument…

So here is my visual tribute to tradition: a classic photo of Saint-Jacques Tower.

It’s what remains of an ancient Church which was pulled down more or less during French Revolution.
I like the funny name of this late 16th Century church.
Eglise de Saint-Jacques de la Boucherie, which means Church of St. Jacques of the Butchery, since it had been sponsored by the butchers of the nearby Les Halles market.
Nowadays there is not any Church anymore and also the market of Les Halles with the relative butchers has been removed by its original site, which was very close to the church itself.

We have still the tower and here it is.
