Elvis’ walk over the roof...

My roof - Nyon - Vaud (Switzerland)

Only recently I have known that this silent and nicely disquieting black cat is called Elvis.

I had been used to find him roaming over my home, coming from his mysterious abode through the roof.

He didn’t disturb, he simply came in, from the window, took a tour around with the wonderful imperturbable disdainful look which only cat have, occasionally, if he was particularly in friendly mood, approached to sniff at my hand , but obviously he could not tell me his name , which probably he ignored too.

Then once, while I was looking at him, all absorbed in his phlegmatic and noble solitary walks on the roof tiles, a neighbour told me

“Does Elvis come also inside your home?”

So he’s Elvis.

"A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere."
~Groucho Marx~

They are the kings of all spaces. The streets, rooftops, inside the house and even the closets.
Welcome to Elvis, and you're known internationally.

Nice shot of Elvis on the roof. This reminds me of a joke about a cat on the roof...I'll have to tell you it sometime. :)

In Hungary it means bad luck, so I love Groucho Marx's wisecrack. As well as this tended black cutie.

A black cat crossing your path is also said to bring you good luck. Perhaps you should buy a lottery ticket or something like it :)
