Coppet is a village in the district of Nyon of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. There are more or less 2300 inhabitants.
It is on the north shore of the Lake of Geneva and is in the part of Switzerland known as the Terre Sainte.
It is celebrated as the abode of Madame de Stael and of Simone, my mother-in-law.
Madame de Stael and her father, Jacques Necker, finance minister of French king Louis XVI, are buried in Coppet ,
where they had lived in an impressive castle, which still exists, always at the same place.

Simone, my mother in law, is still alive and kicking and she lives now in another small village, called Gland.
