The third and last of this series, also the largest and having about equal spalting and Ambrosia staining. There is also some "checking" at the endgrain edges, which I decided to leave and stabilize, instead of turning away. I like the look as well as the added difficulty.
Living on the edge is exciting. If one does it all carefully and correctly, the result is a lovely bowl.
To loose focus, even for a second, can cause a gouge "catch", quickly followed by flying pieces of Maple.
