Campanili and Golden Gate III

view map

This is the shot I have been working for for 2 months.
Crystal clear night. The sun setting behind the Golden
Gate, Faralon Islands profiled against the sunset.
Every thing I have been trying to catch.

For those not familiar with the San Francisco area.
The Faralon Islands are the bumps you see profiled on
the horizon just to the right of the middle of the
bridge. They are about 18 miles off shore which means
they were about 30 miles away from me. They are only
visible on very clear days.

The actual appature was f5.1 selected by the camera's
"Program" exposure. I used the cameras Exposure
compensation to stop it down 7/10 of a stop.
I used PS to crop, straighten a 1/2 degree and I
used the clone tool to darken some of the brighter
lights in the Berkeley marina and on campus.
