I was working a pond of unfrozen water on a frozen irrigation canal. There were two harriers and a bald eagle hunting there. Suddenly a river otter climbed out of the water and rolled around on the ice. The otter reentered the water and took a duck from beneath and brought it out and killed it there on the ice. This series of shots follows that sequence of events. The otter was between me and the sun. The glare made the quality of the images less than I would hope but the drama of the images makes it worth posting in spite of the quality.
