Blue Thunder Air Racing Team is a dedicated group of professionals who campaign a Thunder Mustang at the Reno Air Races in the Sport Division. Blue Thunder and John Parker set a new Sport Class qualifying record of 349.507 mph, a new race record of 344.495 mph, and came home with the second place trophy at the 2004 Reno Air Races. The Blue Thunder Team will attempt to set new world speed records in the C-1.c class over the 3 kilometer and the 15/25 kilometer distances. The challenge to set the new records will be held in conjunction with the EAA Golden West Regional Fly-In and Air Show http://goldenwestflyin.org at Yuba County Airport in Marysville, CA

Blue Thunder is an all composite, kit-built aircraft a 3/4 scale version of the World War II era North American P-51D Mustang. Blue Thunder was built over a 3-year period by American Air Racing.
