Note stout stem covered in short white hairs up to 4 ft. with lance shaped clasping leaves whose edge has short hairs that appear to be slightly serrated, cluster of 1.5 inch composite flowers of yellow disk surrounded by numerous (up to 30+) purple, lavender, or light pink ray florets. Grows alongside roadways.
