Common name: Davidson's Penstemon, Davidson's Beardtongue
H&C lists two varieties (USDA lists 3 varieties, H&C's two and var. praeteritus which is endemic to Steens Mtn.):
var. menziesii: Note glabular slight serrated edges of leaf tending to be broadest at middle or below.
var. davidsonii: Note leaves are broadest above the middle with no serrate edge. Dryer habitat.
