Ivesia gordonii

Common Names: Gordon's Ivesia, Alpine Ivesia, Gordon's Mousetail

ITIS lists four varieties of which only var. alpicola is found in WA.
var. alpicola; stems ascending to erect, generally not red, Found in CA, OR, WA, ID
var. gordonii; no description. Found in Rocky Mtn. of WY (especially around Yellowstone NP), CO, NV. from images, whorl of small leaves halfway up flower stem.
var. ursinorum; dark red stems prostate to ascending, Found in CA, OR, ID
var. wasatchensis; no description, found in Wasatch Mtns. SE of Salt Lake City, UT

Note: There is a fair amount of differences in both the flower (single ranunclus/potentilla like to multiple heads) and the leaf structure (vertical round tail-like (mousetail!) to simple flat pinnated) within this species. Jepson gives descriptions of two of the varieties. Flower(s) on top of upright tall stem have generally five (sometimes six) small yellow oval petals with triangular yellow-green sepals.
