this goes for all the neon sign pieces: they all have a nice sense of mood, light, and colour; but, and this is just my taste, they remind of the impressionists and post-impressionists, like degas, van gogh, or toulouse-lautrec who turned their attention away from archetyplal or idealized scenes to every day city life, especially the night life, usually with a colourful, grungy slant to it. so the triangle lounge taps into that inhereted mistique, ditto the alley way, while the kite store is wanting, at least in this sense. so, if you should continue to meander around in the middle of the night, i think it would be cool to focus on things that have a real sense of "nigh life", i.e. people go there at night. besides, night venues make it there business to appear have moody lighting, colour, etc. which is probably why night life in impressionism was so popular. i also think there is a large curiosity to see what goes on when people are less worried about polite social conventions.
