Mahonia aquifolium

Oregon-grape (Mahonia aquifolium, Berberidaceae) is
an evergreen shrub related to the barberry.

Oregon-grape is a native plant on the North American w
est coast from British Columbia to northern California,
occurring in the understory of Douglas-fir forests and in
brushlands. It is the state flower of Oregon.

Mahonia x. media ‘Charity’
For cultural information, read up on ‘Winter Sun’.
The main difference between ‘Winter Sun’ and ‘Charity’ is,
supposedly, eventual stature. ‘Winter Sun’ is more compact,
but our experiences show this not to be the case.
No matter what, all of the selected forms of Mahonia x. media are worth collecting.
