Common Names: Alpine Springbeauty, Fell-fields Claytonia, Wenatchee Springbeauty

SYN: C. megarhiza var. nivalis)

USDA lists three varieties. ITIS and eFloras list none (Flowers can be white, pink, rose).

var. bellidifolia: found on west coast US
var. megarhiza: found in Rocky Mtns up through Canada
var. nivalis: Endemic to Wenatchee Mtns. Purple flowers

Note rosette of fleshy (succulent) spoon shaped green leaves, purple on outer edge. Multiple purple flowers with dark veins, same length to shorter than leaves. Grows in talus, scree.
