USDA lists 2 subspecies; both of which are shown to occur in WA state.
ssp. angustifolium:
ssp. circumvagum:

T&G states ssp. circumvagum is <12 in. tall with distinctive leaf veins.

Note alternating, lance shaped leaves to 8 inches. Sepals are equal to less than length of petals. Style is longer than the stamens (as opposed to C. latifolium). Large anthers. Grows 2-5 ft. on open areas from low to high elevations.
