Greetings Doug. Our paths cross again. Cool images. I think your Painted Ladies (V. cardu) may actually be Sara Orangetips (Anthocharis sara). Also, given the white fringe on the Frit, it's probably another Speyeria (atlantis? zerene?). The Checkerspot is a Euphydryas -- possibly editha.
