Boechera atrorubens

Common Name: Elegant Rockcress, Purple Sicklepod Rockcress

(syn. Arabis sparsiflora var. atrorubens)

Sometime after 2002 most of the Genus Arabis along with the species A. sparsiflora were transferred over to Genus Boechera (see Boechera pauciflora). The variety atrorubens was considered a separate species.

Note petals are deep reddish purple (indigo), sparsely pubescent stem, 15-25 clasping stem leaves, found at low (~600m) elevations in eastern WA-OR, mostly the counties of Chelan to Klickitat.
