Anemone drummondii

Common Name: Alpine Anemone, Drummond's Anemone

H&C lists 2 varieties, lithophila & drummondi.

Note straight, slender, yellow styles inside generally single flower. (vs. A. multifida's pink - red thickened style). Blue/purple on outside of sepals. Small (4-8 inches) with mid-point leaves similar to basal leaves. Leaves are not hairy. Found in open rocky, subapline - alpine.

The similar A. multifida is hairy, larger (6-20 vs. 4-8 inches) grows from low to high elevations and generally has 2-3 flower stems. Both grow on open rocky habitats.
