As many members of the Purdy Family as were able gathered in Lancaster, PA on the weekend of August 8 and 9, 2009, to attend a service dedicating an icon of St. Cecilia at St. James Episcopal Church in Lancaster. The icon, written by Loretta Russell Hoffmann, was presented to the church in memory of Elizabeth V. Purdy on behalf of her husband Stephen C. Purdy and their six children, Melody Purdy Lewis, Frederick Purdy, Beth Purdy Creager, Timothy Purdy, Phillip Purdy, and Roger Purdy.
