Shrewsbury School in Colour

Shrewsbury School was founded by royal charter in 1552 and was later augmented by Queen Elizabeth I having achieved a reputation for excellence under the first headmaster, Thomas Ashton. The school continued to flourish and was named one of the nine great schools of England in the Public Schools Act of 1868. In 1882 the school was moved from its congested town centre location to the current site in Kingsland, alongside the river Severn.

This gallery is on-going and will attempt to capture the atmospheric nature of the school campus in rich colours and dramatic light throughout the seasons. Many of these photographs are shot under low light conditions with long shutter speeds, I hope you enjoy them.
