Aint nobody around

Marciac, France

A number of people have asked what the place looked like during the day. Here is an image I took several hours earlier to check out my compositional work before it got dark. As you can see it gives a very different feel to the shot!

Lovely image - I really enjoyed seeing the daytime shot to demonstrate just how rich the night lighting really is. Art - yes; but instructive too.

A fascinating image with things of interest from front to back. A history of the place can probably be deduced from the variety of archways. V

Your work is incredible. This composure sets of a calming mood as the eye is drawn into the picture and glancing the menu boards along the way. The white lights that trail through the arches into the distant area of the street. Magnificent composition, Steve. Well done. V!!!
Doug Cruden06-May-2008 19:08
Yep, a cracker! This is another really strong composition, Steve - the low roof and the arches draw the eye right through the image to the light at the end... which you have so wisely not put at the centre! The beautifully subtle blues and greens on the ceiling add a colourful counterpoint to the beiges, browns and muted yellows of the rest of the photo - quite captivating. V

I would love to just relax in one of the seats and take in the long hallway. I can picture myself making up my own stories of times past and this place being an old wine cellar or something to that effect. I am curious about the different archways off in the distance. The timbers suggest an older structure and the seating suggests an almost tropical environment. Well captured.

It’s wonderful. I cannot find suitable words and I feel boring repeating always the same.
Your photos deserve much more than some banal words.
The colours, this entire green and bluish here, what an enchanting night scene.
Really.
