Omeath is a small seaside village in north Louth. It nestles on the shores of Carlingford Lough, overlooking the Mourne Mountains. Irish was spoken here until the early years of the 20th century and the area has a rich musical tradition. It was once a popular seaside resort but has now lost out to the more fashionable village of Carlingford a short distance away, but it is still a pleasant place for a day out.
