Rampark Farmhouse

Rampark Farmhouse dates from 1750 when its
first occupant was Philip McArdle. It has close
associations with Irish history and was a 'safe'
house during the War of Independence (1919-1922)
and the Civil War which followed.
It still belongs to the McArdle family and has been
restored as self-catering holiday accommodation.

Thank you for giving us history with these shots. It makes me happy to know the same family owns the building.

Beautiful whitish house, very well kept up. I would guess this was a fairly well-off family, back in the day.

Interesting story. You seem to have an abundance of nice white houses in your surroundings.

Lots of whiteness here, definitely not fading away though by the sounds of things :)

Now there's a great place to rent, full of real history, witness to the birth of a modern, independent Republic. Great shot.
