There's an Irish trad tune called the pigeon on the gate.
While I've yet to get a picture of one of the many wood pigeons around
our house on a gate, I caught this guy sitting one the roof of the arbour.
I also suspect that he kept be awake a few mornings ago, cooing as the sun rose.
