Forboden

We stopped off to see the famous Rock of Cashel on our way home from Cork.
The pretty little town was almost deserted. There were no tourists, the craft shops were closed and so was the famous monastery which sits atop the rock.
The COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating effect on tourism even though a small number of American tourists are flying into Ireland from hotspots such as Dallas and Florida - much to the consternation of the Irish public who spent three months in lockdown.

Our borders were closed to all incoming other than our expats and remain so....no flying out either. It looks impressive and quite happy alone. V

the monastery would be more atmospheric without busloads of tourists...widespread re-opening in the USA has backfired, so it would be wise to stem the flow of American visitors for a while yet...very few are allowed in to Canada, and we will keep it that way until their situation improves..

Great shot of this impressive monastery. I don't blame the locals for being upset about Americans coming into the country. Can you ban them? V.
