Went to a gig last night...in a coffee shop.
My friend's first cousin. Sean O'Hagan was playing.
He first made his name with Microdisney, an Irish band, in the '80s.
Moving to London he played with the High Llamas and later with the English/French band Stereolab.
He has worked with a host of musicians including Brian Wilson, Paul Weller and Super Furry Animals.
He was a most engaging performer, happily sharing memories of holidays in Dundalk and his musical influences.
Oh, and it was the first gig I was ever at that I ended up drinking camomile tea!
