Counting my pennies and cents

I've embarked on a year of 'mindful spending'. I don't like the sound of frugal living or living on the cheap, but 'mindful spending' sounds better.
Adapting Marie Kondo's method, I'm going to ask myself 'do I really need' it before I make a purchase. (Does it bring me joy would give the wrong answer as so many things I don't need would bring joy!). Hubby came across this book last week so it will be interesting to see how much we can save. I'm already putting what I save from curbing my takeaway coffee habit into the 'camera equipment fund'.

I want to know where you put the memory card in that LOL!!!
We have never had anything we didn't pay cash for...but when you love something as much as you do your coffee give yourself a treat now and then :)

My husband and I are savers. We save for anything fun or not necessary. Nice still life! V

Be interesting if you can keep it up! I'd be okay as long as I stayed away from plant nurseries.. :)

Love your piggy bank! I just read an article by someone who is doing much the same as you and over the years she has been able to travel extensively, all by saving money on non-essentials. V

It will be interesting to see what cameras and lenses you buy a year from now. :)

Sounds very interesting and a good way of approaching purchases. I'm getting good practice at that during this government shutdown ;-).

Good for you! And that's the coolest bank ever.

Now you're talking- saving for new photo equipment can do wonderful things. That "piggy" bank makes me turn green in envy. Apart from that, you are doing something good by curbing take out coffee- less trash and more appreciation. May your endeavor turn out fruitful! ~V~
