So much rain

It's turning into one of those Irish summers where there's no escaping the fact that we're a rain swept island on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It's not just fantasy but I know summers weren't this wet when I was a kid. I remember hot days and sunburn, playing in the fields and camping with friends. I remember summers when the tar melted on the road and we played out til late.
This year the weather is very 'unsettled' and the most we can hope for is a favourable ratio of sunshine to showers. Yesterday the showers won. I got soaked taking Fudge for a walk and when the rain finally stopped for a few minutes, there was nothing for it but to bump up the ISO and hope for the best

Hey, at least it's the Nikon; it should do 800 easily. My shot for today was with the Olympus at 800, and if I could sell the grain I'd corner the market. Thankfully it's less apparent at web size. In this case you didn't have much to worry about; you got a very nice amount of detail on the leaves and the drops.
(Hot days and sunburn??? From what I've been able to find your average July maximum temp is only 19.1. Ours is 17, and for us it's winter! Are you sure that you uncovering repressed memories of January holidays in Sydney when the temp was in the mid to high 30's?)

Great close-up of these raindrop covered leaves!
