Raindrops

I hate rainy days. Especially rainy days at the weekend. If I had my way, it would only rain at night, when everyone is in bed, sound
asleep. Actually, don't mind listening to the sound of rain when I'm going to sleep. But I don't like it when it's the first thing
I hear in the morning which was the case today.
The only silver lining was that it was mostly showers, not incessant rain, so I was able to take Fudge for a couple of walks up
the road. Photography trips to hunt down more gates for the monthly challenge were knocked on the head, although I was somewhat
spoiled for choice when it came to depicting water with plenty of puddles and wet leaves. In the end I liked these raindrops on the windowpane as the summed of the frustration of looking out at the rain.

Your image reminds me of the poem by A.A. Milne, "Waiting at the Window"....I think many coastal residents suffer from the sodden, wet weather of winter (speaking as a long time member of that nearly web-footed group).....the poem might make you smile. :0) Racine

Well, you created beauty out of the rain.

Wonderful image. Drops are always a good subject!

Raindrops on windows are always very interesting to photograph and to look at. Like constellations in the stars, can you find designs here?

I'd welcome the rain! We've been stuck in a cold snap and each day has been around -25C. Too !@#$ cold to do much of anything outside.

It seems like there is always too much rain or not enough rain. Nice image of the former!

You write a good story too Mairead. And I know the feeling - good window shot. The raindrops look great

Super rainy day image.

A great rainy day image with these drops, tones and background.
When I lived near Manchester, England, I had the impression that it rained every weekend, and I used to think, like you, what a wonderful place it would be if it only rained from 2 to 4 o'clock every morning.

I USUALLY see it quite differently; as a rule I like rain, it cleanses and washes a way and in summer can often cool. And a couple of my favourite shots in Canberra were done through a rainy window, one keeping the drops in focus as you have here, the other keeping the background and throwing out the drops. But we've had SO MUCH of it lately that I'm sick of it and I can imagine that it would get old in Ireland too. However it can work well in shots like these which give a chance to try out different backgrounds and lighting to see what you can come up with.

A very apt photo for a wet and dismal day - the contrast in the droplets is actually quite nice to look at :o)

You were lucky, we had the incessant stuff. Nice illustration of a wet weekend.

It's a very common sight at the moment but it makes a great abstract.
