Fate

Talismen such as these can be found in lots of countries of countries to
ward of the evil eye or bad luck.
This one hangs in my kitchen but I'm not superstitious - it's simply a
souvenir my mother-in-law brought home from holidays.
Although I accept that some events are outside our direct control, I
don't subscribe to the idea of fate or luck. There is usually a
perfectly logical or scientific reason as to why stuff happens.

I'm not superstitious, but I do believe in spirits. And luck is random. I like these little charms and it was very kind of your mum-in-law to bring them for you!

I like your thinking! And love this photo. It works very well in b/w.

So you're saying it wasn't fate that your mother-in-law brought this to you so you'd have something to shoot today?! Give me a break! It's perfect! ;-) V

Superstitious or not, they are lovely keepsakes. Nicely captured with lovely tones. V

I wouldn't say that too loudly around a (theoretical, at this point) quantum gravity computer if I were you... but leaving aside the question of probabilities rather than certainties, this is certainly a nicely executed shot. I particularly like the subtle graduation of grey tones from the top left to the bottom right.
