Looking a lot like Autumn

It's starting to look - and feel - a lot like autumn. We've had lots of crisp bright
sunny days, misting mornings and dramatic sunsets. Now though, there's a
real sense of the colder darker days creeping in - tonight it's wet and windy.
It's time to get out the winter woolies, light the fire, and pick up a good book.

Just a quick snap as I went past Ballymascanlon village on my lunch break and, if
truth be told, I posted something very similar last year.

Got to chat with the Oscar winning actress Brenda Fricker at a press conference
to launch Dundalk's Tain Art Festival this evening. She was very approachable
and, formalities aside, we talked about dogs as she has a Border Collie.

A lovely 'find' to photograph ... interesting tones of red ... warm but quiet and ever so appealing. How wonderful it is to count on autumn year after year - I never get tired of the almost same images because they are welcomed and full of comfort. ~V~

Excellent colour match between door and foliage here.

I'm guessing that the postman goes round the back with their letters! Beautiful colours.

Rich in autumnal reds and browns...a warming shot if ever there was one! And I do like the way you causally name-drop in your photo narrative...nice one! :o))

Nice texture and colours, and effective use of a vignette. I like the way that the red leaves are creeping in to smother the old wooden door and letter slot, though truth be told with the heat that we get in summer I always find autumn a relief rather than something which is blotting out warmth. The perception is likely to be different in cooler climates, though.
