Went to Dublin yesterday to meet fellow Pbaser Máire and a friend from my college days.
The day got off to a bad start when I watched the train pull out from the platform without me and,
to add insult to injury, I wasn't able to get a coffee or newspaper while I waited for the next
train as the little shop which operated at the station has closed down - another victim of the
recession.
Máire's warm welcome as she took me on a tour of some of her favourite spots along the
south Dublin coast more than made up for the grey clouds and rain. This image shows
some hardy swimmers at a popular bathing spot.
Having spend some pleasant hours in Máire's company, I then met my friend for a walk
around the city centre and a spot of retail therapy.
