I would like to say that this book, and its more famous predecessor 'French Women
Don't Get Fat....' changed my life, but unfortunately it isn't quite true. For a while it
did and during that time I bored my family and friends about how I was going to get
in touch with my 'inner French woman' enjoy food and not put on weight.
It seemed such an easy recipe.... eat and appreciate good food, drink lots of water,
walk everywhere, watch your portion size, don't count calories, and you could
even drink wine and eat dark chocolate. Oh, and even better, the erudite Mireille
swore that French women didn't like to get sweaty and would never set foot in
a gym!
But of course, 'my inner Irish woman' won over and as the summer holidays
approach and the all-forgiving layers of winter woolies are cast aside, I find
I need some inspiration. Yes, a chapter of 'French Women' and a nibble
dark chocolate should do the trick.........
