Another dull damp day here and whatever light there had been was fading by the time I
went to the Continental Market in town this afternoon.
In a bid to boost trade in the town centre ie encourage people to shop locally rather shopping
across the border in Newry, it was decided to bring in a Continental Market. Unfortunately it started
raining as the traders were setting up their stalls yesterday and it hasn't really stopped since. There
was a good variety of food stalls, cheese, olives, salami, confectionary etc, but not enough crafts,
gifts or Christmas decorations. The cheese seller seemed to be doing the most business - the guy
selling soap reported a poor turn-out.
