Today I had the pleasure of showing fellow Irish Pbaser Máire around the beautiful north Louth
countryside where I am fortunate enough to live.
After a night of gales, rain and flood warnings, the sun appeared in a bright blue sky. We met
for coffee in one of my favourite haunts, The Strandfield Flower Market, before travelling to the
Cooley peninsula, stopping at the old whitewashed church at Grange, the former railway village
of Greenore, and at the medieval village of Carlingford for lunch. We then made our way back
across the Cooley mountains.
It was an enjoyable day and hopefully we will be able to organise a few more very mini-meets
in the coming months.
