This horse is one of the jewels in the crown of the stud. A middle eastern sheikh made three offers to the Irish Government (the stud is state-owned) to buy the majority share, owned by the Irish people, in this stallion. His final offer was around €60 million. The Government refused each time. Then he went to each private shareholder individually and offered them €1 million each for their share. A cool return on their initial investment of around €20,000.
