Rhododendrons on the river bank

In the space of my lifetime the local wild rhododendrons have gone from being a few scattered decorative bushes here and there to a weedlike takeover of the landscape. This river bank’s vegetation has been all but smothered by them here. They look pretty when in bloom, but their voracious appetite leaves little room for other less hardy plants.

So nice to see all blooming, but I see what you mean about taking over. A fine comp. V
