Waiting

Large foyers are places where you see people waiting.
Some wait for friends to appear.
Some wait for a taxi.
Some wait for an appointment.
Some look impatient.
Some need to move around and inspect their environment.
Some content themselves with reading a newspaper or a book.
Some need to drink coffee.
But for all those waiting it is a transitional phase between the immediate past and the immediate future. The period of waiting forms a bridge between two phases of time where life circumstances can change.

A very modern waiting area. I love the point of view. You have captured the shapes very well. I like your thoughts on waiting. V

Very clinical isn't it....

Despite the warmth of the Poinsettias, the Nativity(?) and the smart seating, this looks to be a very clinical waiting area.

An imposing waiting area, made more homely by the Christmas decorations.

Or the waiting can be used to take photographs, in which case is it really waiting at all or merely something being done in between two other things?
That having been said the presence of a lot of open space in this shot, with no one single object (or person) quite the subject but any number of things/people which could be, does suggest a form of transition, of something there but not quite there yet.
