In this case the green being directly against the red colours works quite well, though the bacon's colour is a good deal lighter than the beetroot's was in he other image. You managed the exposure quite well in this one; the light was obviously much stronger on the near side than the far side of the dish, but you've kept the balance across the range of it quite well.
