The acer thrived

initially, but then one summer all the leaves fell off.
It looked dead, we cut it back as low as possible
and it has now regrown to its former height, in full leaf.
But alas, the glorious coppery red colour is no more.
Now its leaves are green.

A lot like aging. You take a breath and then go on, but not quite as bright as you were. :)

Its glorious with these beautiful coloured leaves! Sounds like the understock has taken over,
you may have cut under the graft.
