Many years ago I was given the gift of a session with a colour consultant who put together a palette of colours that suited my pale and freckled skin. For the most part I agreed with her choice; the only one I had difficulty accepting was that I shouldn't wear black, as I liked black and had a lot of black items in my wardrobe. So I told the consultant that I was not prepared to throw out these staples of my dressing habits, and she compromised and told me I could wear black as long as I didn't have it next to my face.
