Z : Zest

Oranges and Christmas will be forever linked for me. The best oranges are imported into Ireland at Christmas, and it is wonderful to enjoy an extensive range of different kinds. They have been put into the bottom of Christmas stockings, studded with cloves, popped into punches and fruit salads, used to make chutneys and marmalades, and in this image I am preparing the zest to add flavour to the cranberry sauce for the turkey.

Are they perhaps Outspan oranges, imported from South Africa?
Every so often, I find an Outspan orange from my native country in the store here, and of course, I buy it, at a price that makes me cringe. And then I tell myself it is bettet than any local orange could ever be..... :)

Cranberry sauce with turkey sounds well. It's a shame that teleportation is not yet invented :) Simple and eye catching image!

Terrific detail! I add orange zest to cranberry sauce as well. It adds a nice under-flavour.
