I love this image. Brings back the good old days when I rode the train with steam engines to college in MO. It took 3 days from FL to MO. Got to see a lot of the country. Leave the man in. It adds character. I'd also like to have seen it in b&w. Too bad they quit using these and started using streamliners.

I love the steam coming out of the stack, nice image! The Man doesn't bother me at all.

The steam makes this image, especially from the wheels. Good details and colour, very nicely captured...

I think having people involved with photos show more character in an image. It also shows perspective in size of the person vs engine. Many times it's better then the subject (thus being the train) all by it's self.

The limbs are even cut at the proper place giving him a 3/4 view (cropping between knee and ankle is preferable over cropping at the joint, thus being the knee or ankle)

The contrast is great, the lighting is right-on and the steam is so totally inspiring! I want to tour the countryside in this beauty! Are they looking for color images or B & W. Because a good looking steam engine is beautiful dressed in Black and White! (I'm sort of partial to steam engines.. can you tell?)

Good luck in the contest! It looks like a winner to me! My oh my, she is a beaut! I would have loved to see this baby in action.

Very nice, good head of steam. I think the man adds perspective to the photo. You can really tell how massive the engine is. Good luck in the contest, Terry.
