a good question: two reasons actually.
it was a hazy, overcast summer day and the
air was quite polluted so the images were very yellow.
in addition, i feel the black and white
makes the images more nostalgic and that is what
I feel about the subject matter.

I am enjoying your gallery here, Judy! Not only are the photographs really expressive, but it is also a beautiful homage to the twin towers. I am assuming that you are a New Yorker? I am as well but now live in California. This gallery makes me miss Manhattan. Thanks for sharing your photos with us, and also thank you for your nice words on my work as well.
