Havana, El Templete (La Habana)
from Wikipedia:
El Templete is a monument in Havana, Cuba, that pays homage to the place where the foundation of the town of San Cristóbal de la Habana was celebrated in 1519. The monument consists of a bust of Christopher Columbus and three canvases painted by Jean Baptiste Vermay. It is a Neoclassic building, typical example of colonial architecture.
Close to the Templete, there is a column which replaces a silk-cotton tree, under which the first mass and the first Council of Havana were celebrated.

Havana, Callejon de Hamel
From Loneley Planed site:
"Aside from its funky street murals and psychedelic art shops, the main reason to come to Havana's high temple of Afro-Cuban culture in Centro Habana is the frenetic rumba music that kicks off every Sunday at around noon.
For aficionados, this is about as raw and hypnotic as it gets, with interlocking drum patterns and lengthy rhythmic chants powerful enough to summon up the spirit of the orishas (Santeria deities).
Due to a liberal sprinkling of tourists these days, some argue that the Callejon has lost much of its basic charm. Don't believe them. This place still rocks - and rumbas!"
... and I agree :)

La Terraza, Cojimar
Hemingway’s favorite table at La Terraza
"The story goes that Ernest Hemingway liked to sit at the corner table overlooking the bay off the northern coastline of Cuba and drink an oversized daiquiri. Not a bad idea, really. Sun streams in through the open-windows of this tourist hotspot, while musicians roam the restaurant strumming traditional Cuban music."

La Terraza, Cojimar
Ernest Hemingway lived in Cojimar for some years and this was his favorite restaurant there, as evidenced by the many pictures of the American author here, including one with Fidel Castro. In one of the pictures, you can see Gregorio Fuentes, the model for the fisherman in The Old Man and the Sea.
