Child by Window Kathmandu Nepal (Wendy Loo)

While out on a trek, we chanced upon a small village in Nepal. While taking a sip from my water bottle, I looked up and saw this young Nepali young child smiling down at me from a window. She first stuck out her tongue at me and when I happily returned the ‘cute’ gesture, she started smiling widely. I was thus rewarded with a few beautiful shots of her.

My challenge was managing right exposure as the background was extremely dark while her T-shirt bright red and the window was a bright blue.

While I liked most was the unique and captivating smile of the subject. The color of her T-shirt while fighting for my eyes’ attention, in my opinion, was quickly over-shadowed by the memory of her beautiful facial features, dimpled cheeks, ear-rings, brown hair and yes.. the most lovable of all, her double-chins.
