I hate self portraits. But nobody was around and needed a face to test something on. Was reading a tutorial about film grain...I've always had this feeling that in digital something was missing. The noise on my Cameras when I would have liked some grain to give a more "edgy" yet united feel, wasn't what appealed to me. Always have had a feeling that noiseless digital was too "clear" not exactly plastic like...but a harder feel than looked good to me especially in B&W. Tried softer contrasts, tried stuff in Photoshop...then I read this tutorial about how film grain somewhat clumps together...rather than blotches together (like digital) and how to sort of do that...basically I wanted something to soften the pic and still keep the edge, without being obvious or disrespectful of the truth of the image or intent... This is the first I've tried. I added a slight sepia tone to it too.

I love the composition of this picture.
(There is software for film effects called DXO or something like that. Although I rather like to use ISO400 B&W film!)
