This lens works pretty well at F7 and up...a little soft below that. The colors are pretty much straight from the lens, as is the contrast. I did sharpen it up a bit, since almost no matter what you put on a 10d or 300d. as you know, you've got to sharpen in comparison with some of the newer lines of cameras. Seems the older ones had a different anti-aliasing filter or something. Of course it isn't as inexpensive as the kit lens too, depending where you get it about 2 1/2 to 3X the cost...but still more economical than the Canon 20-35 USM. I'd thought of getting a kit lens and shaving off the back plate, but then figured it was too much work...and think this is still a fairly reasonable alternative...especially if you have good light and can keep the f-stops up...so it's OK if careful. Yeah it's pretty good on colors...

Nice colors & sharpness to it, Barri. Looks a good alternative for the kit lens too. The colors seem natural, but that could be in the processing, eh. ;-)
